Damien Cassiers
After working for 30 years as an electronics and telecommunications engineer, Damien Cassiers chose to pursue a more creative path, allowing him to round out his view of the world.
As a link between his past and his present, his work is digital centric, combining modern techniques and traditional media. Seeking for a subtle balance between the mind and the intuitive.
Where traditional artistic techniques are studying mass, line, light, perspective, composition, colors…
Damien Cassiers seeks to reproduce what is perceived, to invoke our symbolic patterns, to question our understanding of the world.
His mastery of colorimetry, his knowledge of papers and his ability to deal with different supports complete his know-how and are all elements that today form part of his original artistic proposal.
At the same time, Damien Cassiers created W44 (Workshop 44), located at the very center of Brussels. Whether in his basement, in his workshop space, or in the streets of Brussels, this place serves as a base camp to develop his art. This space also allows him to meet and discuss his work with people who do him the honor of opening the door or sharing his space.
